Change Maker: Krishna with his Sadan

I had the good fortune of knowing about the work that was happening in the space of aging and elder care, by a neighbor recently. I ended up spending an awesome 3 hours in the weekend there. This place is called Krishna Sadan on Medchal road-Hyd, run by an inspiring young man in his early 30's namely Krishna mohan. To start it all, it is home with a serene and blissful surroundings in the middle of nowhere with all the positive vibes, one can only dream for.

The place looks very simple and done on shoe-string budget but all your sense can feel and touch nature here.

Next best thing to talk about is the organizer, Krishna. You would see a very unassuming and simple gentleman with impeccable traits of a well read person. Apparently, working on aging and elder care was his passion from early-on. He has  committed himself to the cause and plunged in, at an early age by bootstrapping the whole project with his personal assets. Krishna and his family seems to have sold a part of their property and pulled this gigantic mission, offering a variety of services. A lot of us plan for years together for our future years but this man seems to have no inclination or interest for his future but single-minded passion for the service of elders.

Krishna and his home offers a very well-thought set of services, which are:
  • Long term stay for elder, when they completely hit a dead end
  • Short term care and counseling leading to  return to their homes
  • Temp stay for elders, when the family wants to go for short trips, vacation etc.,
Krishna and His Maya :)
This is a currently is completely free home with support of volunteering of inmates and donors. Krishna, given his academic and professional background works in a proven approach, where he tries and engage with families to restore the elders in their real homes. Only when all roads close, he takes them in, as un-involuntary move out from homes for elders, is very painful.

Like many of these unsung heroes, Krishna has all hope for tomorrow but no balance in bank yet trust in the destiny of right things happening for right causes. With barely 20K as bank balance, magic keeps repeating every month where the monthly needs worth 50K are met, new assets being procured and  hope keeps getting renewed.

Long Live Krishna, his sadan, Donors' large hearts, the tortoises in his well, roses in his garden and smile on faces of senior citizens ..

What can you and I do ...  HELP or Do Out DUTY
